ABOUT

Department of Computer Engineering

The Department of Computer Engineering, established in 2001, is committed to delivering quality education through experienced faculty, modern laboratories, and a student-centric learning environment. The department promotes academic excellence, innovation, and industry readiness through expert talks, workshops, industrial visits, internships, certification programs, and active participation in professional bodies such as IEEE, IET, CSI, and departmental technical cells.
Students consistently excel in national and international project competitions, hackathons, paper presentations, conferences, and technical and cultural events. Strong industry collaborations and an active alumni network provide excellent opportunities for internships, live projects, placements, and career guidance.
The department received NBA accreditation in 2018, and the undergraduate intake was increased to 120 students from the academic year 2019–20. In addition to the B.Tech. in Computer Engineering, the department also offers a Ph.D. programme. Following the institute's autonomous status from 2021–22, the curriculum has been redesigned in accordance with NEP 2020, offering flexible learning through Honours programmes, Minor specializations, full-semester internships, and skill-, activity-, and technology-based courses. Project-Based Learning (PBL), integrated from Semester III to Semester VIII, enables students to develop innovative solutions using emerging technologies while strengthening teamwork and problem-solving skills.
The department maintains strong industry and alumni collaborations, providing excellent opportunities for internships, projects, and placements. Graduates are placed in leading organizations such as Infosys, TCS, Accenture, Cognizant, LTIMindtree, Deloitte, BNP Paribas, IDFC FIRST Bank, Media.net, Zeus Learning, MuSigma, Marico India Ltd., and Nucsoft. Many students also pursue higher education at reputed universities in India and abroad.
